Little Bakery
A cute and inviting menu app
Google UX Design Certificate Portfolio Project #1 - A Mobile App for a Small Business
The Problem: Patrons of Little Bakery expressed a desire for a convenient, digital way to order and keep track of earned rewards. Little Bakery wanted a branded menu app to streamline online and pick up orders.
The Goal: Create a menu and ordering app that is easy for users to navigate and visually aligns with the Little Bakery brand while meeting accessibility standards.
My Role: Sole UX designer from concept to delivery.
Project Duration: September 2022 - January 2023
User Story: Haru
“Finding new foods to enjoy really helps me get through long nights of studying.”
Haru is a transfer student from Japan who is excited and eager to be in a new city all on his own! Haru is vegan and struggles to find foods for him on menus. Haru can understand and speak English quite well, but sometimes struggles with communicating or understanding words without context. Haru prefers when a menu offers photos for all of their items, not just some of them.
To find somewhere to do his homework every once and a while
To find delicious treats that will cater to his dietary needs
To not disrupt his stacked schedule
Goals
“It’s hard to find places [outside of but] near campus that are good productivity spaces”
“When menus don’t have pictures I sometimes have a hard time understanding the item”
“It’s frustrating when a menu doesn’t say if something is sold out”
Frustrations
User Flow
Sketches & Wireframes
I ended up wireframing more pages than just the user flow that I was focusing on to allow the participates of my user tests to click around more.
I knew that this app was going to be picture heavy, and needed to balance that fact with the design choices I was going to make.
